A Christmas Carol 2021 – New Stage Theatre – Through December 19
The Charles Dickens Classic, adapted by Ivan Rider and directed by Sharon Miles brings the tale of Ebeneezer Scrooge to the Jackson stage. Performances, recommended for ages 5+ for darkness and frightening images, run through December 19 with special matinees and ticket prices. Masks are required to attend each performance. Tickets are available.

Million Dollar Quartet Christmas – Thalia Mara Hall – Monday – 7:30 pm
Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley come together again to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year. Sun Records, now donned with a Christmas tree, garland, and mistletoe, rings with the sounds of the season and the chart toppers that made these four famous. Dinner, Drinks, & Jazz! Raphael Semmes Quartet – Hal and Mal’s – Tuesday – 6:30 pm
Stalwart Jackson musician and Governor’s Arts Awards recipient Raphael Semmes leads a band of merry musicians in a regular Tuesday night set in the dining room at Hal & Mal’s. Take advantage of the menu and bar while enjoying the variety set list, which, this time of year, surely includes some festive music. It’s free.

Homestead for the Holidays – Mississippi Ag and Forestry Museum – Thursday & Friday – 5-8 pm
Enjoy breakfast for supper, story time with Mrs. Claus and a picture with Santa and Rudolph! Take a stroll through Small Town and see demonstrators, visit Fortenberry-Parkman Farmstead and experience Christmas during the late 1800s. Carousel and train rides will be available as well as hands on historic crafts and live music throughout the grounds. Admission is $7 for ages 3 and up.

Snow Much Fun – Mississippi Museum of Natural Science – Friday- 5:30 pm
Give your kids a snow day! Well, a snow NIGHT, actually. Play in scheduled “snowfalls”, take a frosty selfie with Santa, create winter woodland crafts, and see winter STEM experiments. Get tickets here (Sales end Friday at Noon. No tickets at the door).

Priced to Move Vol. 11 – Hal & Mal’s – Friday & Saturday
Jackson’s premier pop-up art gallery & sale featuring original, handmade, local art, all priced $100 or less. Music (Friday): DJ Young Venom, DJ Stephan Urkel and DJ Daddy Bug and (Saturday): 5th Child and Newscast. It’s free.

Eddie Griffin Live – Chuckles Comedy House Jackson – Friday-Sunday
A comedian turned actor, Griffin was voted class clown three years in a row in high school. At 16, he opened his own dance studio and choreographed the Kansas City Chiefs half-time shows. But when one of his cousins dared him to go on stage at the local comedy club, he performed off-the-cuff for 45 minutes successfully, purchased a one-way ticket to Los Angeles to pursue his dream and now, he brings his act to Jackson, Mississippi. The Kickback: A Live Music Showcase & Hangout 3 – Fondren Guitars – Friday 8 pm

The City of Jackson’s Department of Parks & Recreation hosts “Pictures with Soul Santa” this Saturday and the next. Both events will be at the Westbrook House at Mynelle Gardens at 4736 Clinton Boulevard. Pictures are $10. Only cash will be accepted.

“The Fearless 11″ Film Screening – The Smith Robertson Museum & Cultural Center – Saturday 11 am
In the fall of 1965, 11 black students made the voluntary decision to integrate John W. Provine High School in Jackson, Mississippi during the height of the Civil Rights Movement. Learn their untold story in this special presentation. It’s free.

Second Saturday – Highland Village – 2 pm
Highland Village hosts a festive afternoon of last minute shopping from 2-4pm featuring beer & bourbon tastings throughout the village, live music and great holiday deals, plus, the Sartorial Tobacconist (the first 50 cigars courtesy of Highland Village).
