James R. Crockett will discuss his new book “Rulers of the SEC: Ole Miss and Mississippi State, 1959-1966” as part of the History Is Lunch series. Due to increasing COVID-19 cases, History Is Lunch has temporarily shifted to a virtual-only format. The weekly lecture series of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History explores different aspects of the state’s past.

Furry Fun Run 5K – The District at Eastover – Thursday 6 pm
Fleet Feet and Chipper & Coco Pet Shop are teaming up to bring you The District’s FIRST ever dog-friendly 5k fun run! Join us for live music by “JC and the Family Band” and food & drinks outside on The District central green area from 6-8pm. This fun run race is not timed and it’s free to participate. Registration is requested so that participants can sign a waiver in advance.

The Terry Miller Project at Martin’s Downtown – Martin’s Downtown – Friday 9 pm
Terry Miller has been a member of The Vamps and Southern Komfort Brass Band for years. It’s an evening of funk, soul, and jazz from elite musicians Terry Miller, Jarid Smith, Rhamarcus Lee, James Weary and Tyler Kemp. Tickets are $10.
Steel Panther: Heavy Metal Rules Tour – Hal & Mal’s – Sunday 8 pm POSTPONED
The Heavy Metal Rules Tour featuring hair metal cover band Steel Panther with The Ballard Journeay Show come to Jackson. Tickets are available.
