Here’s to the Week Ahead: Valentine’s & Mardi Gras Edition

With a weekend that includes Valentine’s Day, it would be hard not to center our list on the holiday (all roads lead to yours and your beloved’s stomachs). Add to that Fat Tuesday on February 16, and we’d be remiss not to mention three Mardi Gras celebrations, too. Share the love with some of JXN’s best!
Valentine’s Weekend Specials – Cultivation Food Hall – Thursday – Saturday 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Cultivation vendors are teaming up to provide weekend specials, including La Brioche and Gold Coast Bar’s macaron & cocktail flight (4 drinks, 4 mini macs) and special bar snacks all weekend.
Mardi Gras “MASK-QUERADE” – Hal & Mal’s – Friday 6 p.m.
Join MS Capital City Pride to raise money and supplies for Grace House and Shower Power. Buy a table of six and come as your own “Krewe” or come alone and find your next “Krewe.” Tickets are $50 and include a full dinner, king cake, entertainment from five of the best Queens in the South and an open bar provided by Absolut. Tickets are $50 per person.
Valentine’s Weekend Prix Fixe Dinners – The Fairview Inn – Saturday & Sunday 5 – 9:30 p.m.
Executive Chef Connor Mize has prepared a four-course prix fixe meal under the ambiance of the Fairview Inn. See the full menu that includes seared scallops and sauteed redfish. Valentine’s Weekend – Char – Friday – Sunday
Available from 4 pm-close February 12-14, Char is offering the full menu + chef specials for dine-in or takeout. Specials include: Appetizer: fried rock lobster tail with spicy drizzle, jalapeño slaw | Entree: 10 oz bone-in filet with truffled whipped potatoes, fried asparagus and optional fried rock lobster tail add-on. Also, take part in two presentations of Murder Mystery Dinners. Enjoy a three-course prix fixe menu while solving the mystery in an interactive dinner theater performance presented by the masked performers of the Detectives Comedy Dinner Theatre. Tickets are available for Friday and Sunday.
Valentine’s Weekend Specials – Saltine Restaurant – Friday & Saturday
On the menu: 12oz ribeye with sautéed onions, 5oz lobster tail, roasted potatoes & asparagus | Halibut with
lemon caper sauce, grits & asparagus | Red velvet cake with chocolate sauce & strawberries, and specialty cocktails.
DIY Dinner Date Box – Manship – Friday – Sunday (must be preordered by 3 p.m. Feb. 11
Features all of the ingredients – including appetizer, entree and dessert – to create a delicious 3-course meal from the comfort of your own home. Five-Course Valentine’s Dinner – Estelle Wine Bar & Bistro – Friday – Sunday
Incorporating farm flavors into culinary masterpieces, this sweetheart special – $65 per person – runs all weekend. Wine offerings like Moët & Chandon have been discounted for pairing. View the menu (filet mingon and seared pan trout are the entrees) to make reservations.
Krewe of Roux – Cultivation Food Hall – Saturday 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Featuring live music, a pet parade, muffulettas, specialty cocktails + beer, king cake, Princess Tiana, face painting, macarons, New Orleans classic dishes, and more.
Second Saturday – Highland Village – Saturday 2 – 4 p.m.
The village transforms into Jackson Square featuring Southern Komfort Brass Band, king cake tastings, storytime with Disney’s Tiana at Coffee Prose, busker-style entertainment throughout the center, shopping, cocktails, beads and more.
