Night Brunch – Ecoshed – Monday 6 pm
Ecoshed Food Lab member Michael Cordell returns for an “evening brunch” experience. There is no cover and all service workers enjoy 20% off all drinks at Spacebar. Vaccination is highly encouraged but not required, but masks are mandatory at all times when not eating or drinking.
Live Music – Fondren Guitars – Wednesday-Saturday
Fondren’s instrument and lesson shop, in their new location between Fondren Public and Fondren Fitness on Old Canton Road, is also the place for live music! From 6-8 pm Wednesday, join an open jam (all musicians are welcome). Will Cockrell plays Thursday 6-8 pm) and John Causey plays Friday (7-9 pm). The week closes out with Weak Hearts & Gold Dust Mannequins, Saturday from 7-9 pm.
Science After 6 – Ecoshed – Thursday 6 pm
Kicking off the 6th annual Mississippi Science Fest, Science After 6 gives you the chance to try out-of-this-world drinks from Spacebar, taste bits and bytes from the EcoShed Food Lab, and meet Pepper, C Spire’s humanoid robot and official mascot of the award-winning MS Science Fest! C Spire’s Gaming Club will be on hand with interactive demonstrations for everyone. This is a 21+ event. Your ticket ($15) includes one drink ticket and food.
MS Science Fest – LeFleur Museum District – Saturday 9 am
Mississippi Science Fest brings the community together to celebrate careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and has introduced children of all ages to the wide variety of STEM concepts and industries that are available in Mississippi. Guests can purchase one ticket for Saturday’s festival and explore all four museums for one low ticket price of $10. Exhibitors and activities will be at all four LMD museums – the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum, the Mississippi Agriculture & Forestry Museum, the Mississippi Children’s Museum, and the MDWFP’s Mississippi Museum of Natural Science. The Fearless 11 Film Premiere – Mississippi Civil Rights Museum – Saturday 1 pm
In the fall of 1965, 11 black students made the voluntary decision to integrate John W. Provine High School in Jackson, Mississippi during the height of the Civil Rights Movement. Learn their untold story in this special presentation at the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum. Free.
