Here’s to The Week Ahead: March 15-21

May the luck of the Irish be with you this week as you safely celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and enjoy a host of JXN events, including the inaugural Magnolia Market, the JXN Garden Extravaganza and more.
St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations – Fenian’s and Saltine Restaurant
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at Fenian’s with traditional Irish fare, and $5 Guinness and $7 Jameson shots all day with live music starting at 6 p.m. “Bring a mask, we’ll provide the cráic!”
And, at Saltine in Fondren, celebrate St. Patrick’s Day all week long with Irish-inspired food & drink specials are on the menu for dine-in and takeout (through Friday, 5 p.m. – close).
Garden Extravaganza – MS Trademart – Friday-Sunday
The Mississippi Nursery and Landscape Association offers vendors serving garden and patio needs – flowers, trees, landscape professionals, garden accessories, yard art, ironwork, pottery and more. Find Mississippi Medallion Award Winners, succulents, ferns, trees, shrubs, roses, bedding plants, vegetables, herbs and more to brighten your space for spring. Show times are Friday, March 19 and Saturday, March 20, 9 am-5 pm, and Sunday, March 21, 11 am-4 pm. Admission is $7 per day for adults with free parking, and ages 15 and under are free.
Jackson Plant Swap and Gardener Social – Laurel Street Park, Belhaven – Saturday 10 a.m.
Free and family-friendly, attendees are encouraged to bring a potted plant or packet of seeds to share with someone and leave with something new to you. There will be live music by Tim Avalon and Jamie Weems, and for kids, rock- and pot-painting and drawings for prizes.
Easter Bunny Experience – Highland Village – Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Reservations are required for this year’s EB experience which includes a private visit with the Easter Bunny, tea party snacks and beverages provided by HV eateries, special gifts along with a chance to win an HV gift basket and a link to digital photos. “Out of an abundance of caution, and in keeping with official local health guidelines, capacity is limited and hand sanitizing stations will be available.” Book sessions here.
Magnolia Sunset Markets – Footprint Farms – Saturday 4 p.m.
The Magnolia Sunset Markets, a curated urban marketplace mixed with artisans, local produce, food, and music, kicks off this weekend. Set outdoors, the inaugural event begins with a Chef-curated dinner Friday night from Chef Enrika Williams (the dinner is sold out). The market will take place every third Saturday through the end of the year, weather permitting. Entry is $5 (per vehicle).
