Blacktop Mojo – Hal & Mal’s Tuesday 8 pm September 28

A hard-driving Southern rock unit based out of Palestine, Texas, Blacktop Mojo’s fiery blend of post-grunge, classic rock, and metal falls somewhere between Soundgarden, Black Stone Cherry, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Voodoo 13 and Candybone open this 18+ show. Tickets are available.

“Southern Ground” with Jennifer Lapidus + Robert Raymond – Virtual – Wednesday 5:30 pm

Highlighting a curated collection of 80 recipes from twenty acclaimed craft bakeries in the South, Lemuria Books in association with Square Books, presents “Southern Ground,” a book that showcases superior cold stone-milled flour and highlights the importance of baking with locally farmed ingredients. Jennifer Lapidus is the founder and principal of Carolina Ground Flour Mill in Asheville, North Carolina and Robert Raymond is the baker behind Sunflower Oven in Jackson, Mississippi. Will Breman Live – The District at Eastover – Thursday 6 pm

A top 8 finalist on NBC’s “The Voice” season 17, hear the Santa Barbara, California-based singer/songwriter in a “one-man-band” performance at The District. Family-friendly and free to attend, food and drink are for sale from Cultivation Food Hall, Sal & Mookie’s and Fine & Dandy.

Science @ Sunset – Mississippi Museum of Natural Science – Friday 4 pm

A night of science demonstrations, trivia, and games that are fun for the whole family as students get ready to go back to school. This event is included with museum admission and with MMNS Foundation Membership.

Induction Weekend – MS Sports Hall of Fame – Friday & Saturday

This annual induction weekend celebrates the MS Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2021. Friday night features a Drawdown of Champions Party. Saturday morning the museum is open for “Meet the Inductees.” Saturday evening, the weekend culminates with a formal banquet and enshrinement of our Class of 2021 Hall of Famers.

Eddie Griffin Live – Chuckles Comedy House – Friday-Sunday

A comedian turned actor, Griffin was voted class clown three years in a row in high school. At 16, he opened his own dance studio and choreographed the Kansas City Chiefs half-time shows. But when one of his cousins dared him to go on stage at the local comedy club, he performed off-the-cuff for 45 minutes successfully, purchased a one-way ticket to Los Angeles to pursue his dream and now, he brings his act to Jackson, Mississippi.
