We’re headed into a New Year with a handful of events sure to warm you up: music, comedy, home improvement and dance are just ahead!

Blue Monday – Virtual – Monday – 7:30 p.m.
Join the Central Mississippi Blues Society on Facebook as they present a special Virtual Blue Monday show/interview with Jock Webb Sr., a Blues harmonica musician from Birmingham, sponsored by South Arts in conjunction with the Mississippi Arts Commission.

Jackson Indie Music Week – Through Sunday
Join a musical celebration of the indie music scene in JXN. JIMWeek is a week-long series of concerts, showcases, panels and parties, spotlighting creatives from all genres including Rock, Hip Hop, EDM, Blues, Singer-Songwriter and Independent film & video. Scheduled sessions include Wednesday’s Blender at Martin’s Downtown, Thursday’s R & B showcase at Vibe, Friday’s Rap Concert at Hal & Mal’s and Saturday’s Rap showcase at Conkrete Kickz.

Creative Healing Studio – Virtual – Wednesday 12:30 p.m.
A weekly art therapy gathering for adults being treated for cancer or those with a cancer diagnosis in their past, this MS Museum of Art event is lead led by licensed art therapist Susan Anand. Using the practices of art therapy in an open-studio setting, this program helps participants manage stress, cope with change, and gain personal insight or self-awareness. In response to COVID-19, the group is meeting on Zoom. Registration is required.

Rodney Perry Live – Chuckles Comedy House – Friday – Sunday
An opener for the likes of George Lopez, Steve Harvey and Cedric the Entertainer, Rodney Perry – the host of Bounce’s “Off the Chain” – comes to JXN for five shows. Seating is limited and there is a two-item minimum purchase. Casual dress is required. Get tickets here.

KUKUWA African Dance Class – Virtual – Saturday
Spice up your workout with a virtual class taught by Niketa, mean to help boost your mood! Tickets are available on Eventbrite.

The Home Show – MS Trademart – Saturday & Sunday
The Home Show is the perfect place to find everything you need to make your home the best on the block. Featuring over 200 exhibitors with thousands of new products, the Home Show will help make your home the envy of all your neighbors. Saturday features The Voice winner Todd Tilghman with pop-up concerts, 11a-3p.
