Lee

“There’s something about Jackson; it just draws me,” said Geno Lee, owner of the Farish Street District’s iconic Big Apple Inn.

A fourth-generation owner of the restaurant, Lee was raised all over the world. Once his family settled in Jackson, he said, he found a home.

“My wife’s from here and the only thing she wanted to do when she graduated college was leave Jackson. And she married a man who wanted to stay in Jackson.”

Lee said he sees the potential of the City With Soul.

“I see an untapped, diamond-in-the-ruff kind of things. I think tourism can be our draw and I think it should be our draw. We have so much to see; we just have to uncover it.”
