The City of Jackson Department of Parks and Recreation has dedicated the new Kingston Frazier Memorial Splash Pad at Presidential Hills Park II. The new splash pad is named in memory of 6-year-old Kingston Frazier who was killed in 2017. Read more…
Hattiesburg (and soon-to-be Jackson) restauranteur Robert St. John updated his plans for The Capri Theater/Ed’s Burger Joint project in Fondren. Photos showcased construction progress on Instagram with the note, “Look for us this fall.” Read more…

The Mississippi State Fairgrounds will play host to the inaugural Mississippi Mudbug Festival featuring live music, amusement rides, and crawfish, April 7-11, sponsored in part by Visit Jackson. Live entertainment will feature Frank Foster, Doctor Zarr, Chad Wesley, Fordie Hays and J Edwards. Read more…

Fertile Ground Beer Company has announced Matt Jeffries as their Chief Operating Officer. “Matty J” as he’s known in the community, was previously with Southern Beverage Company as their Craft Brands Manager.
Scheduled to open in 2021, Fertile Ground Beer Co. will be located in a former Baptist Hospital laundry building at the corner of Manship and Jefferson Streets.
The taproom-focused brewery will feature an inviting space to enjoy locally-made beer. Read more…
