Home Show Comes to Trademart This Weekend

If you’ve been hanging around the house a bit more lately (we all have, right?), you may have noticed a few things that need touching up: paint on the walls, bedrooms to convert to offices and backyard spaces that could use a staycation vibe.
If 2021’s resolution is to begin – or finish – that home project, then this weekend’s Home Show at the Mississippi Trademart is geared directly at you.
We spoke with Vicky Bratton, Executive Officer from the Home Builders Association of Jackson, to find out more about this annual event.
- Can you give us the necessary details of the show – hours, ticket prices, times, etc.?
The Home Show is this Saturday and Sunday from 10 am – 5 pm. Admission to enter the show is $10 and 16 and under are free. You can win tickets online at homeshowjackson.com! We are drawing for free tickets every day this week and many radio stations are promoting free tickets. The show is sponsored by Atmos Energy & BancorpSouth. - What can we find at the show?
We have over 80 spaces of products/services related to remodeling and construction projects. We have experts on-site to help any homeowner who is thinking about building or remodeling, representing almost every area of construction products and services. We’ll also have remodelers and new home builders on-site to answer and help with info.

- Tell us what is new or noteworthy for this year at the show.
This year we’ve added a 5K giveaway for one lucky winner sponsored by Iberia Bank and MS Housing Institute. The winner can use the $5,000 towards any project with exhibitors from the show. You must register at the show.
We will also have Todd Tilghman of Meridian, winner of 2019’s The Voice on NBC, who will be shopping for his home and will be performing in pop-up concerts on the show floor from 11 am-3 pm on Saturday. - With the past year, folks seem to be investing in home projects. That can’t hurt interest in the Home Show.
Construction has been one of the few industries that had a great year in 2020. Many homeowners realize that they need to change their home to include workspace, staycation areas outside and a better layout for their home to handle work and home needs. Yes, many people are building new homes for just these reasons. And others are remodeling to retrofit unique needs within the space they call home now. Our experts know that people are interested in new homes and projects to make working from home more efficient. - Tell us how you all are taking safety precautions for COVID-19
We are abiding by all Trade Mart protocol for our show. The facility is providing hand sanitizer stations throughout our 20,000 square feet of show space. Visit Jackson is providing us with complimentary individual hand sanitizer and face masks. There is space to spread out at our show and vendors are spread out throughout the room. - How has the response been from your supporters?
We know this is an unusual year for a home show. Our vendors and Home Builder Association of Jackson members are very supportive of our show. We want to provide interested home show attendees the information they need right now to build new or remodel.
Editor’s Note: We strongly encourage you to follow COVID-19 guidelines set forth by the City of Jackson (facial coverings ARE required in the city of Jackson along with social distancing and crowd size limits). See City guidelines here.
