Three Jackson colleges – Jackson State University, Millsaps College and Belhaven University – will soon take to the gridiron to begin their 2019 football seasons.

The Jackson State University Tigers play five games at home – at Veteran’s Stadium – beginning with October 5 versus Grambling State University at 6 p.m. The following week, on October 12 at 2 p.m., the Tigers’ homecoming game will pit the team against Alabama State University.

The Tigers are back in Jackson on November 2 against Arkansas Pine Bluff at 6 p.m. Then, on November 16 at 2 p.m., they take on Southern University.

Final regular season play concludes on November 23 at 2 p.m. in a televised game against Alcorn State University, the “Soul Bowl.”

The Millsaps College Majors kick off their 2019 season at home – Harper Davis Field – in the “Riverside Rumble,” taking on cross-neighborhood rivals Belhaven University on September 5 at 7 p.m.

On September 21, the team is at home against Rhodes College at 7 p.m. and on October 5 at 1 p.m. against Centre College.

It’s homecoming on October 19 at 2 p.m. as the Majors play Trinity University and celebrate senior day on November 9 at 1 p.m. against Hendrix College.

The Belhaven Blazers play their first home game on September 14 at 7 p.m. versus Louisiana College. Family weekend, September 28, the Blazers host McMurry University at 1 p.m.

Southwestern University is Belhaven’s October 12 opponent at 1 p.m. and the homecoming matchup is November 9 at 2 p.m. against Sul Ross State University.
